Insomnia or Fear

Insomnia has many variables but for the most part fears is the underlying source regardless if insomnia is a result from mental ailments, physical ailments, disorders and so forth. Most people fear that they will lose something during the course of their life and some of these people fail to let go and let God.

Insomnia and stress go hand in hand, since one is not apparent without the other. Symptoms of insomnia include sleeplessness, fatigue, stress, anxiety, panic attacks, tension, chest pains, headaches in some instances and so forth. Various other symptoms may exist but it depends on the degree of suffering and if there are, other factors involved. Millions of people that endure insomnia often have underlying mental or physical problems under the surface. Although, few believe that it is possible to suffer insomnia without suffering mental or physical ailments, however, this is yet to be proven.

Alcohol and drugs will increase insomnia symptoms, thus it is highly recommended that alcohol and drugs should be avoided to move toward recovery. Thus, if you suffering insomnia then you must learn techniques and management skills to relieve the suffering and most times the techniques are cheap and affordable vs. spending fortunes on treatments that are not always necessary. Even if you have a mental disorder that is causing insomnia, it is possible to find relief quicker than most medications will offer providing you are willing to put forth effort to achieve the results.

Clearing your fears is a great start to relieve stress and eliminate or minimize insomnia. However, many cases of insomnia can be justified, since many people suffer physical or mental ailments, or mental disorders, which cause the insomnia. Persons with insomnia are advised to seek out medical examinations first to determine if any of the symptoms are related to medical reasons. In other words, you could have a chemical imbalance that is causing the problem, in which if this is true your doctor can prescribe you medications to restore the balance, thus eliminating insomnia. On the other hand, the doctor may not find any medical reasons that factor in insomnia. If this is the case, you may need mental help.

If you must visit a mental health expert to determine if mental disorders is the cause of your insomnia, don't let your fears get in the way of getting help. Remember, it is the people that do not ask for help that are the people with the real problems. Once you visit the mental health facility it is smooth sailing for a while, but once the doctor gets into the details it becomes chaotic. The downside is nearly any mental health facility will diagnose a person on an initial visit whether the diagnose is real or not. Thus, this is the procedure the facility will take, first to get payment for treating you and second to start the analysis of what is going on inside your mind. Once the analysis is set and the progress continues, do not take the counselors first diagnose once you learn what the problem is, since most likely you will be referred to a psychiatrist or psychologist for additional evaluation. Here the doctor will ask you questions on the first visit which lasts anywhere from 15 to 40 minutes. You will also receive medications during this visit that will help you with your mental disorder and help reduce your insomnia, which in turn will offer you a good nights rest. If you are diagnosed make sure you understand the diagnose before agreeing to the medications. Once you have an insight and feel that the symptoms explained to you apply to your life, and then ask the doctor about the medications that you are taking. Ask the doctor about side affects, explanation of why the meds are giving, and so forth.

Psychiatrist, counselors and psychologist daily make many mistakes like anyone else, thus making sure you have an overall idea of what you are getting into to eliminate insomnia is critical to recover. Remember, insomnia is backed by fear, thus face your fears and your stress level will reduce, and in turn your insomnia will take a back seat while you rest during a long night.
